FLIGHT

Above Earth and Beyond

NASA Space Shuttle Discovery, STS, HD DVD

The First flight of the Space Shuttle Discovery took place on August 30th 1984 and was designated STS-41-D. Discovery is now the oldest orbitor in the Shuttle fleet and has completed 35 missions into space.

The Discovery Shuttle carried the Hubble Space Telescope into space. It was this Shuttle that 77 year old John Glenn returned to space on board in 1988.

Space Shuttle Discovery will be decommissioned in 2010 and will be the last space shuttle to fly on mission STS-132.

Now you can experience space travel more vividly than ever before as high-definition cameras capture everything from the preparation of the STS-114 launch to the actual mission and the eventual Earthbound descent of the spacecraft.

This DVD would make a great present for the budding astronaut in your family. Highly recommended.
